Hi, I’m Mark!

I appreciate you taking a quick read.

The short version of me:

I’m a Board Certified Coach (BCC), and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I’ve spent 20+ years helping many of the largest companies in America develop their employees and leaders and ultimately create cultures of wellness that excite people to work there.

I also have an amazing wife and two pretty cool kids! (but don’t moose with them)

The longer (but still worth reading) version:

I grew up in Plano, TX and I went to school at Texas Tech University for my bachelor’s degree in psychology and The University of Denver for my master’s in counseling psychology. I’ve been a licensed therapist since 2010.

Whether you’re looking to hire me for speaking gigs, coaching or counseling, my message is the same.

I help people create a life where they excel by making their mental health and wellbeing a priority. People always think you have to choose between success or happiness. Or they believe, “life’s just a bitch, then you die.”

They can’t even imagine a life where they’re crushing it and able to handle what life throws at them.

Usually, they don’t know how to change their situation, and so they begin telling themselves there’s nothing they can do.

They’re wrong! And it starts with our mindset. All of our actions start with our thoughts. If we don’t have a healthy mindset, then it’s going to be pretty hard for our actions to be healthy one.

So if you’re here for coaching or counseling, you’re probably thinking about making a change? Scary, right?

I hear you. Change is scary. Big change is big scary! It’s ok, though. You can do it.

A lot of the people I work with are motivated, driven individuals who are looking for more balance, happiness, passion, joy, fulfillment, purpose, moments of flow, etc.

Many are in successful careers, but they’re burning out and no longer feeling fulfilled. They’re ready to try some changes, and they want to connect their days to purpose again. They want to reconnect, or find for the first time, their life’s calling.

Other clients know what they want and what they need to do. They’re looking to grow in certain areas such as communication skills, time management, and managing anxiety to perform at their best. They value our time together for the big-picture clarity they gain. It keeps them focused on the most important tasks and they’re held accountable for accomplishing them.

What about you? I’d love to hear more!

Even More of My Story:

I grew up in Plano, TX and now live in Denver, CO with my wife and two young kids.

In high school I was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Epilepsy due to concussions in high school football.

My diagnosis changed my life overnight. I struggled for years to cope with it. I eventually found that focusing on other people was one of the best ways to reduce my own stress and anxiety, a must for anybody with epilepsy.

That’s when I knew I wanted to focus my professional work on helping others!

It has taken many forms over the years, and I have gained incredible experience along the way. I have honed my helping skills through years of working in both business and clinical settings.  My work background includes:

  • Coaching individuals to create a life grounded in success and happiness

  • Delivering talks on communication, positive psychology, wellness and integrating work & personal lives

  • Providing coaching and consultation to organizational leadership helping them address behavioral-risk issues impacting the workplace

  • Sales & account management working with companies of all sizes from 10 person startups to Fortune 20 corporations

  • Helping The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado (EFCO) create a first of its kind, state-wide mental health provider network specially trained to work with people living with epilepsy and their families.

  • Counseling employees on everyday issues such as relationships, coping with an unexpected life change, and managing stress

  • Providing crisis stabilization to people who were actively homicidal, suicidal, or experiencing another type of life-crisis

  • Training individuals to improve their speaking and presentation skills

As someone with epilepsy, I support the epilepsy community in CO through coaching, psycho-eduation classes, and mental health consultations. I’m also part of their Professional Advisory Board.
